Ciel Terre is the leading innovator in the floating solar space. Our manufacturers, Layfield, work directly with Ciel Terre and have adapted their designs and technologies, which will be implemented on the ponds Strathmore.
Help Diversify Strathmores Energy Consumption
Strathmore is a town on the outskirts of Calgary. They are continually growing and developing the local economy, however they are constantly in the shadow of Calgary.
This project will put Strathmore at the forefront of innovation and economic development as this will be the first floating solar project in Canada, and one of the largest in North America.
The Problem
The surrounding land in Strathmore is crucial for economic growth and development. Solar farms take up hundreds of acres, so how can Strthmore become fully renewable, without using valuable real estate?
The Solution
Energycostsaver Inc. has proposed to float the solar system on the contaminated ponds of Strathmore.
These are ponds that serve no purpose and are not fit for recreational use.
Energycostsaver Inc has partnered up with a floatation company called Layfield, based out of Edmonton Alberta.
This installation would generate nearly 4 MW of energy for strathmore and it would positively impact Strathmores potential for economic growth.
